Common Predators & Nuisance Animals
Below are some of the predatory and nuisance animals we routinely deal with:
Raccoons
Experts say that feed pellets being consumed by raccoons terrorizing protein feeders cost approximately $200 per raccoon. For small properties, 10 coons could be costing $2,000 per year; larger properties with multiple feeders could be losing over $20,000 per year if they have 100 coons or more.
Feral Hogs
Wild hogs cause millions of dollars worth of damage and losses to farm/ranch properties each year. They can consume hundreds of dollars worth of feed in a single night, root up fields that require significant tractor work to repair, damage fences and much more.
Coyote
Any rancher who has found a calf mauled by coyotes knows how disturbing an experience that can be. Deer managers who’ve seen mutilated, dead fawns understand the impact this has on game populations. Both realize the cost of having coyotes preying on their livestock and wildlife.
Beaver / Otter
Timber managers are all too familiar with these pesky critters who can plug culverts, dig through dams, flood fields and destroy precious trees. Implementation of specialized beaver removal programs can relieve these frustrations and safeguard the resource investments.
Bobcat / Mountain Lion
Wild cats, irrespective of size, remain a serious threat to livestock and game animals. Bobcats regularly prey upon small deer, calves and lambs. Mountain Lions (aka. cougar, panther) can take down fully-mature deer, cattle and exotic animals resulting in losses of thousands of dollars.
